Seriously folks, if you love sci-fi adventure, with a lot of genuine sentiment and spectacle, faithfully based on Edgar Rice Burroughs' classic novel which influenced the genre for 100 years -- then go see JOHN CARTER!

This spectacular film made me feel twelve years old again. Made me fall in love with Dejah Thoris all over again, too.












It truly is superb and has earned a high spot as one of my all-time favorite movies with just one viewing. I intend to see it again sometime this week.

SHERLOCK HOLMES: The Crossovers Casebook

My good pal, and fellow writer, Win Scott Eckert has informed me that SHERLOCK HOLMES: The Crossovers Casebook is now (finally!) available on Amazon and Barnes and Noble.

Same as Win, I also have an adventure in this volume, "Sherlock Holmes in the Lost World", teaming the Great Detective with the brilliantly bombastic Professor Challenger.

There are lots of other fine tales in this volume, including one by my friend the late, great Howard Hopkins, who also edited this book. It was a special joy working with Howard. He told me more than once that this was his favorite anthology he'd worked on, and he believed it was the best Moonstone had ever done.

Howard was very proud of this book.

THE SPIDER Strikes Again

Wow. More surprises.

I've just agreed to write a brand new full-length prose novel of THE SPIDER, for Moonstone Books. Looks as if the Master of Men and I cannot be so easily separated.

This bloody, gun-blasting, crazy cackling, nutcase and I have been though a lot in our past seven years together. Because of other professional obligations I had to regretfully turn down this offer last year, but the chance to write a full-blown, uninterrupted, white-hot SPIDER novel all my own is too great a temptation to resist any longer.

Besides sleep is over-rated.

(And of course, the main reason I'm doing this project is so I can spend more quality time with Nita Van Sloan.)

THE HALLOWEEN LEGION Returns!

Okay. I'm spilling the news. Wild Cat Books has given me their official nod to announce that my THE HALLOWEEN LEGION will return in a brand new prose novel set for release before October 31, 2012.

A fresh new idea galloped into my brain yesterday while I was taking Trudaloo the beagle for her walk and by the time we got back home I'd thought the whole thing through. I can't wait to start writing the new book.

So, along with the graphic novel, already in progress, to be published by Sequential Pulp/Dark Horse Comics, my little group of Trick 'R Treatin' weirdos will be returning in THE HALLOWEEN LEGION Book Two, "The Night of the Living Fossil", from Wild Cat Books. I'm very thrilled that the cover and interior chapter headings will be illustrated by the multi-talented Ver Curtiss.
