BELA LUGOSI's TALES FROM THE GRAVE Preview

On August 16, 1956, Bela Lugosi quietly passed away.

Today, over fifty years later, the great actor is more famous, and more loved, than he was even during his own remarkable lifetime.

In memory and tribute to the legendary Lugosi, I'm posting this preview page from my new horror story "The Midnight Museum", drawn by my friend, and fellow-Lugosi fan, Eisner Award winning cartoonist, Terry Beatty. The ultra-cool "Cinecolor" is by Tom Smith.

This is just one of several new chilling episodes to be featured in the debut issue of
BELA LUGOSI's TALES FROM THE GRAVE comic book horror anthology, including contributions by Basil Gogos, Kerry Gammill, Neil Vokes, John Cassady, and other great genre creators. Published by the fine, fearsome folks at Monsterverse.

The book is due in stores on Bela's birthday, near Halloween. Please contact your local, or online, comic book shop and pre-order BELA LUGOSI's TALES FROM THE GRAVE # 1 no later than August 27 to insure that you receive your copy. The Diamond Item Code is AUG 101080.

I'm also providing a link below for a very cool two-and-a-half minute Monsterverse trailer, running highlights of this exciting and historic first issue collector's item.

Lugosi is one of the great immortals of the Golden Age of Hollywood. No mere grave can hold him. Coming this October, once again, Bela Lugosi lives!

THE SPIDER by Pablo Marcos!

Behold the first penciled page of THE SPIDER comic by the incomparable Pablo Marcos, from my first story, "Death Siege of the Frankenstein Legion."

Pablo sent this page to me yesterday afternoon, and I was awe-struck upon seeing it. It really is a great thrill for me to be working with him. Pablo is not only a fabulous artist, but also a very warm human being and a true gentleman.

Landing the writing gig on THE SPIDER was an epic moment for me right from the start, but being able to collaborate with a boyhood hero of mine is indescribably joyous. It just doesn't get better than this.

Much more to come!

Stay tuned!

Check out this
Fanboy Radio interview with Monsterverse publishers Kerry Gammill and Kez Wilson about the upcoming BELA LUGOSI's TALES FROM THE GRAVE comic book horror anthology.

You'll also hear from fellow contributors Robert Tennill, Neil Vokes, and my pal Terry Beatty talks about the Lugosi story he and I wrote and drew together.

Fun stuff!

Behold THE SPIDER, Master of Men!

I just received permission from the publisher to post Dan Brereton's fantastic first cover for my new comic book series of THE SPIDER!

A month or so ago, after we were lucky enough to score SPIDER paintings from Dan, I predicted that his unique interpretation would instantaneously make him the definitive SPIDER cover artist--and I believe it has. This is exactly what I see lurking in the monstrous mazes of my mind while writing the character. I love Dan's palette of rich ominous oranges and deep midnight blacks, perfect for the first issue's release around Halloween.

THE SPIDER, Master of Men # 1 is titled "Death Siege of the Frankenstein Legion", written by me and illustrated by the legendary Pablo Marcos.

Coming this Autumn from Moonstone.
