Of all the classic authors, she's the one I'd most like to have known.
At the age of six I was hooked by the Frankenstein films starring Boris Karloff, and when I first read her novel, while in my early teens, I was changed forever.
So, thank you, Mary. If it wasn't for you, I'd be doing something very different, and a lot less interesting, with my life.
